Terms of use

The rules for using Plenary, in plain language.

Plenary (plenaryapp.com) runs submissions, peer review, programs, registration and event websites for medical and scientific societies. By using the site you agree to these terms. If you use it on behalf of a society, the agreement between that society and Plenary also applies, and it wins if the two differ.

Who runs what

Each society runs its own events on Plenary and decides what they collect, who can take part, deadlines, prices and refund rules. Questions about a specific meeting, submission or decision go to that society. Plenary provides and looks after the platform.

Your account

  • Use your own email address and keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
  • Tell us right away at help@plenaryapp.com if you think someone else has used it.
  • You can download your data or delete your account under Account and security.

What you submit

  • You keep ownership of your abstracts, files and other content. You let the society and Plenary store, show and share it as needed to run the event, for example sending it to reviewers, printing it in the program or abstract book, and showing it on the event site.
  • Only submit work you have the right to share, with the agreement of your co-authors.
  • Never put patient information or anything that could identify a patient on Plenary.

Reviewers and committee members

Keep what you are asked to review confidential, use it only for the review, and do not share or copy it. Declare conflicts of interest when you have them.

Payments

Card payments are processed by Stripe and go to the society running the event. Plenary never sees your card number. Refunds follow the society's refund policy shown at registration; ask the society about them.

Things you must not do

  • Try to see or change anything you have not been given access to, or get around the site's security.
  • Upload anything harmful, unlawful, or that infringes someone else's rights.
  • Overload the site, scrape it in bulk, or use it to send spam.
  • Pretend to be someone else.

We may suspend accounts that break these rules, and we will tell the society involved.

Availability

We work hard to keep Plenary running, backed up and secure, but we cannot promise it will never be interrupted. Keep your own copy of anything important, such as your submitted abstract. Societies can download all of their data at any time.

Limits on responsibility

Plenary is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, Plenary is not responsible for decisions societies make (such as acceptance, awards or refunds), for content other people submit, or for indirect losses from using or not being able to use the site.

Changes

We may update these terms as the platform changes. Important changes will be announced on the site or by email.
